Pilots

Not compulsory, but recommended if the port is unfamiliar.

Pilots board vessels outside the island Enehoeje.

Tugs

Tugs are obtainable with 24 hours’ notice to the Agent.

Anchorage

Smaller vessels can find good anchorages on Albue Roads, or Enehoeje with depths of 4.5-5.5m.

Entrance

A 6 mile long buoyed and partly lighted channel dredged to a depth of 6.3 m over a bottom width of 40m leads through the shallow Nakskov Fjord into the harbour. Max speed in the channel is 5 knots

Night navigation may be possible for smaller vessels under favourable conditions, provided they are fitted with a searchlight and in posession of local knowledge.

Berths

There are 13 berths with depths ranging from 3.5m to 6.3m.

Cargo Handling

A hydraulic operated mobile crane with 18m outreach.

A 100 ton crane on tracks available at Berth 4.

Grain Elevators

Berth 13: Loads 130-150 tons per hour

Berth 8: DLG West loads 130-150 tons per hour

DLG East loads 100-120 tons per hour

Beam: 21 m

Draft: 5.8 m

Work is In progress to deepen the channel to 8.5 m and is expected to be completed in 2009
